The Islanders have sent AHL defenseman Brett Skinner to the Atlanta Thrashers for AHL right wing Junior Lessard.
A career AHLer, Lessard has played in 298 games and recorded 86 goals and 92 assists for 178 points.
Lessard has immediately been assigned to Bridgeport.
