As word struck Long Island yesterday that #1 goaltender Rick DiPietro would be out for the remainder of the 2008-2009 season, GM Garth Snow got right on his phone.
Word out of Isles' beat writer, Greg Logan, is that the Islanders have signed goaltender Wade Dubielewicz for the rest of the season for a pro-rated $500,000.
Dubie has been living with his family in Connecticut since being bought out by AK Bars Kazan of the KHL. Wade is expected to practice tomorrow and likely start for the game against the Devils on Saturday.
On another note, Joey MacDonald will be out 2-4 weeks with a groin strain. Peter Mannino has been called up to back up Yann Danis for tonight's game.
