Comeau Up

Blake Comeau was called up by the Isles today.

"The New York Islanders have recalled right wing prospect Blake Comeau from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. In 25 games with Bridgeport this season, Comeau has scored three goals while adding six assists for nine points. This is Comeau’s first action with the Islanders this season since training camp.

Comeau made his NHL debut last season with the Islanders on December 7, 2006 versus Montreal and played in a total of three games and went scoreless. Last season with Bridgeport, his first professional year, he recorded 12 goals with 31 assists for 43 points in 60 games.

The 21-year old native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan was originally drafted by the Islanders in the second round (47th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He had a standout junior career with Kelowna of the Western Hockey League where he scored 60 goals and 117 assists for 177 points in four seasons."
