Dunham Staying on LI?

I'm not sure if you all know that last year's back-up goalie, Mike Dunham, retired this offseason. Well, he did.

Our fellow Isles blogger, Corey Witt, at http://nyimediablog.blogspot.com/, reports that Mike Dunham could be coming back as the Islanders new goalie coach.

Very interesting, isn't it? I was never expecting Dunny to even retire, and now he can possibly start a new job in coaching. I like the idea. A great veteran who can teach DP and Dubie.

Here's the full post by Witt:

Quote:
"Here’s what we do know for sure: The Islanders will have a new goaltending coach this season and that he will travel with the team to training camp. We also know that former Islanders goaltender Mike Dunham is now retired as a player and that he’s on Long Island. And it wouldn’t surprise us if he is the man for the job. Dunny was very instrumental in a few early season victories for the Islanders last season. He’s also a very smart hockey guy and has a great relationship with Ricky and Dubie. He knows the sport and knows the position. Dunny’s also one heck-of-a nice guy. Nothing official yet, but expect it soon."

Of course, Corey has way better sources that's rumors could become official. And that's comparing to myself. Expect this Dunny thing to happen guys.

Sorry for the holdout in "New Isles" reviews. Training camp starts one week from today, so I'll have to get it going. Three more to go. Tomorrow, Jon Sim.

Let's Go Isles!!!!
