Yes. Another unsuccessful day in blogging. I hope I can stop getting into these streaks of not posting that game review. This is a lot of work keeping this blog up-to-date, though. You will now see the game reviews posted on the night of the game. They are supposed to be like that anyway.

News And Notes

Couldn't find time to put together a game review, so I'll give you a NAN, which I know you all love so very much.

-According to friends at islesnation.com, Bill Guerin is day to day with an eye condition called hyphema.

-I am back to #2 on Top 100 Hockey Sites! Another great site had come in and passed me, but I've regained that silver thanks to you guys who are reading this right now!

-Although, there was no game review, I updated the POTG gallery with last night's picture. This was also the "frozen moment" on NHL.com today. We've been getting a lot of love from them lately.

-Berard will likely be back on Thursday. Wooo!

PGP Game 14: Isles @ Flyers 11/12/07 7:00 PM

The Isles try to collect their 10th win of the year as they take on the Flyers in Philly tonight.

The Islanders come into this game on a 4-game winning streak. Their #1 goaltender Rick DiPietro has been especially good lately, and looks to pick up his 9th win of the year. The amount of injuries is really stacking up though. Captain Billy Guerin is out for the game after he received a nasty gash above his right eye. These injuries haven't stopped them though, and they are on fire.

The Flyers have been doing great, too. Leading the division, they look to pound some more points on the New York teams. Their goalie has been fabulous as well. They do have a dirty team though, and every team needs to watch out. It is going to be a battle of the best tonight, so it should be an exciting one.

The Isles are now 9-4 this season as they defeated the Devils 2-1 Saturday night.

3. Josef Vasicek- Played hard and picked up the Isles 1st goal.

-Sutton had a great game defensively with his slightly raised ice time.

Pre-Game Post, Devils @ Isles 11/10/07 7:00 PM

The Isles and Devils square off for the second time this season tonight at 7:00. In the previous meeting, the Isles took an exciting game in OT when Bill Guerin scored making it a 4-3 win. Tonight, things may come out totally different.

The Isles are red-hot right now. With a 8-4 record, nothing is stopping them. Tonight, they go for their 4th win in a row. After the news of Freddy Meyer returning to the Isles earlier today, the team now has some extra defense. Obviously, Meyer won't be playing today. But the news itself may have a good or bad impact on the team. Injuries are still eating at them, with 5 regular guys still hurt.

The Devils, on the other hand, haven't had such a good start. With Kevin Weekes actually playing one of the first few games, Marty Brodeur is very well rested. The elite goaltender seeks his 500th career win tonight. The Devils are 5-7-2, and hope for their 6th win tonight. They've lost 2 of the last 3 games, and really didn't look good. It may take some really hard work to overcome the Isles talent tonight.

Isles Acquire Freddy Meyer

No, you are not asleep. And no, I'm not lying. The Islanders have re-acquired D Freddy Meyer off of waivers.

"The injuries we've recently had on our blue line prove you can never have enough depth," said Snow. "We've always liked Freddy. He's an intense competitor and he's a very solid defenseman in all areas who is still just 26 years old. We only lost him earlier in the season because of a numbers game. We are very happy to have Freddy back as an Islander."

With Berard still hurt, and Johnson expected to miss 2 months, we need another back-up Dman. A good pick-up.

Fearless Freddy is back.

-According to an article from the Toronto Sun, Jason Blake is missing the Isles. He really doesn't seem to like it over there in Toronto.
